Studio Training and Individual Coaching

At Acting in Motion, we strive to create custom workshops tailored to the needs of your Studio and Dancers. We utilize the AIM approach to create fluid workshops specific to your style and to the individual and collective level of your students. Some studios prefer to have the workshops take place outside their studio environment- others feel that the students are more safe and comfortable within their studio walls. As we are not directly affiliated with any competition studio-we offer either option.  AIM can provide space or visit your studio!

We begin by meeting with Studio Directors, Teachers and Choreographers to determine what Private Coaching or Collective Workshops would best suit your needs. We offer Performance Training using the AIM Method for choreographed pieces such as:

The Competitive Dance World is changing. Conventions are a large component of the Dance Studio Paradigm. Students and Educators are beginning to understand the importance of being able to walk in to a class, learn a combination and perform. You give them the ability to show themselves at their technical best. At AIM, we give them the tools to immediately access a character and story – to bring focus to their performance and to get noticed by fully inhabiting the space and the character and by being quick, and consummate, storytellers. We also give them the confidence to create in an instant- to be comfortable in their own skin and to be present in the moment.

With this in mind, we also offer private or semi-private coaching in Improvisation. We use proven and time -honored systems of Improvisation that help them touch the visceral, the organic, the brave and unique elements that make them imminently watchable. Although our approach to Convention education is a sub-set of our training, it is through this challenging work that we have seen enormous growth in our Students.
